That’s the thing about fridges and fridge freezers, in that most of the above doesn’t apply. They’re just pushed into a corner and switched on and left. Those with a metal back less likely to ever catch fire (as demonstrated by the LFB).

What’s good about all this is that those concerned about the safety of white goods are actually doing something about it. It starts with a tragedy, then publicity and, eventually, legislation.

It shouldn’t have to be that way but that’s how it works. In the midst of all this is complacency, apathy and sheer bloody mindedness by those that could have prevented this in the first place. Coincidentally they are the same ones that are first to put the blame on the user.

    Re: AEG Dryer E50 Error

E32 error means that when you went to reading the ‘last error code recorded’ (position 10 on the dial) you must have hesitated on position 7. Once you enter diagnostics you must quickly rotate the dial clockwise directly to position 10. So ignore E32 and try again to find this E5?error.

My guess is that you will find the error is E52: Motor overheat cutout (internal TOC) at fault?

    Is this a new fridge?
Is it clear of the wall at the back?
    Nothing impeding the compressor?

Not if you’re careful to remove just enough to seat comfortably. I’ve never had the need TBH.

Probably even better. Anything Hotpoint these days is at best questionable.

An interesting wash load. Was it a ‘quick wash?’ Those open zips can damage door gaskets.

Re: Problem with after market door seal

Like Dave I’ve never had a problem fitting one of these pattern door boots. The 2 Dave placed a link to are the same, though there must have been an oversight in not including the WAQ range.

I’ve never noticed these cut outs and lug moulding on the tub and door boot respectively, and I don’t believe there is an issue here as long as the drain holes sit in the 6 o’clock position.

But I’m curious, the original door boot you took off, did the groove/moulding align on that?

    Pretty sure it’s e50.

What Barry refers to is that by going into diagnostics you get the more specific E5+ error (eg E51, E52 etc).
E50 is the error code that is displayed to the customer.

Sounds like no connection to the bottom NTC on the condenser to me.

Can’t rule anything out without checking of course but heater unit THE most likely culprit.

The heater (attached to the main pump motor) needs replacing. 🙁

Have you been putting salt in the water softener regularly?

Was the belt still wrapped around the drum and in good order?
