Just chat with your local GIAS man as he dashes by in his van, see if he can pop by your place and bring along his MEM programming kit……..

ParticipantRe: Zanussi sc5412 oven not working
50 ohms is about right for each oven element (actual read should be 48 ohm). So I’d be thinking a fault with the oven timer (set on auto perhaps?) or the selector switch/thermostat?

Motorised Selector Switch (41003735) broken I reckon.

Nope, only way to know is to go inside and find the source. Cooling fan burnt out maybe? Power isolated before going in!

I would get a new interlock, seems the way forward here. They sell them here on this site by the way.

Buzzing noise is the motor. Most likely the motor capacitor failed and the start windings within the motor cooked. Big costly fix my friend, scrap it and buy a decent Zanussi or some such is my advice.

I doubt problems with the door switch as that doesn’t come into play until after you set the programme the press start. More likely the PCB or perhaps just a wall socket fault? Have you dragged the beast out for a look around the back?

It could be the motor bearing though that would be apparent all the way through the cycle. Something caught in the drain pump chamber is the more likely. Remove the pump cover and inspect carefully for foreign objects (torchlight will help) and make sure you secure the pump cover back before using it. 😉

I see, so presumably it worked OK before you changed the door handle? If that was the case then perhaps the handle/male door probe are not located properly?

ParticipantRe: Bendix BIW 100
The hissing noise is probably the motor brushes ‘arcing’? Time to check for worn out carbon brushes I would say.

You may have replaced an early Metalflex made interlock with the later Rold brand then have you?

ParticipantRe: Qualtex/Connect vs ebay
Wow, big difference and I see they only charge just £1.69 extra for delivery tomorrow. Way to-go I reckon. 😉
Edit: That same firm sells via Amazon too! 😀

My missus once scorched her buns on the gas hob whilst reaching across for the extra virgin oil. 🙁
