    Re: Bosch D/W dead.

On some Bosch/Neff/Siemens dishwashers , one set of contacts on the on/off switch are just a ‘brush’ set . I.e – they just touch momentarily when the switch is depressed .

I’d be more inclined to think this will be a duff board…….but you may need to examine the IC’s on it to make sure there wasn’t another component failure that caused it.

Is it making the noise constantly or briefly every 2 minutes or so ?

I’d be checking the heating element too for high resistance or low insulation. A failing Ntc can also cause some odd faults .

Whilst its outside , check the drain hose that’s located by the compressor at the rear . It’s connected to the plastic tray that sits on the compressor. It may be blocked with a jelly-like substance and this will prob be causing the ice problems in the freezer bottom . It’s basically a bacteria / mould build up that blocks the drain hose which in turn stops the defrosted ice water from draining away and the only place it can then go is back into the freezer compartment.

Try holding start button for 5 secs. Sounds like child lock is on .

could the – 0 – be the child lock on ? Try picking a cycle then hold the start button for 5 secs…….or if the customer has the instruction booklet , look in there for child lock activation/deactivation

Nearly all the failures I’ve seen…..and remembering 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} are gen BSH elements……have occurred on the bottom right corner .
Personally , I think its just a poor design….and so obviously do BSH as the new style double undercounter ovens have changed to a smaller ‘circular’ element .

Have you checked the base for water ? This model has a flood protection float in th base. That’d be my first port of call.

All the appliances affected by the BSH recall are hving the control module replaced REGARDLESS of if there’s any signs of poor soldering/sparked components . Very few modules will actually have any visible signs of damage but they’re ALL being changed as a matter of course.

Unless your appliance wasn’t one of the models on the list , they may return .

what akes you think its heating ? And if you watch the timer , it’ll be 23 secs……this is a ‘set’ time for a fault detected by the appliance where its not detecting any microwave production.

Have you actually installed your appliance or is it standing on its own ? The lights on the display will go off when you close the door as its an intergrated machine so has no need for any display led’s when the doors closed. The buttons will prob be disabled too with the door closed .

If you can remove the evaporator cover in the freezer fairly easily and the evaporator is fairly clear of ice , then there is a good chance the defrost heater is ok – although only a full test of the heater will confirm this.

It might be worth doing the full 48hr defrost and then seeing how it performs with regards to the fridge temps. If , after the defrost , the freezer works fine and you can hear the fan running ok , then the temp reg does sound a feasible call….although a failure of one is rarer than hen’s teeth ?

Re: Bosch KGH39V03GB Fridge not cooling freezer fine.

The fridge compartment on these appliances is nothing more than a big insulated box. The cold air is produced by the evaporator and blown by the fan up into the fridge. HOWEVER the cold air coming into the fridge will only come out of the very top grill/vent on the fridge rear wall.
The main fault causing your symptons will be a frozen evaporator as this blocks the airways for the fan and stops air being blown into the fridge. IF THE EVAPORATOR IS ICED OVER AT THE REAR OR EVEN COMPLETELY , YOU WILL NOT SEE IT WITHOUT TAKING OFF THE COVERS IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT. Be warned that if you take the evap cover off , its difficult to refit !!

A full 48hr defrost will normally temporarily clear the ice but the problem with that is that it may return .
