Hi Dave,
Sorry been a tad busy today. I’ve got a couple of piccies of the PCB whilst I was there yesterday, but they’re not great. (only 1 will be of any use)

If I get the chance tomorrow I’m going to collect the PCB to try and repair it.
I just wondered what the tech bulletin was?? Sounds like there have been problems with them.

ParticipantRe: SK88800I
thanks Dave,
I’ll have a look when I go back Wed/Thu. There was no sign of any damage to any components but I will look again specifically at the caps and try and find the one for the door light, then take if off and test/replace…..
Tks again

ParticipantRe: LG WM12225FD does not spin
check the stand pipe it empties into (make sure it’s clear), remove filter and have look in side, make there are no coins, especially 5p pieces, no elastics bands around the impellor. check the impellor, check pipe isn’t kinked or blocked with crud….. how quickly does it drain??? should take 30-45 seconds as a rule (slightly more for some programmes like woollens)….. check these first, see how you get on.

some times it’s very obvious, the suppressor can be cracked, occasionally minor burn marks. Easy to find, follow the mains lead after you’ve unplugged it

ParticipantRe: Anyone know this company CSM Bolton
Hi Chalky,
Jason Mellor is your man 01204 495931 – he will talk “£$t about why they have not paid. Better still I had a better response from Chris Bailey in the end. You’ll get all the excuses “we never received your invoice” despite read receipt…blah blah
Re-send invoices to:
CBailey@csm-services.co.uk – (finance).
Jobs@csm-services.co.uk
Estimating@CSm-services.co.ukRing again, be polite but firm, re-send invoices to all e-mail addresses – took me about a month, I think they had had enough of me.
After the final call they paid it directly into my business account via faster payment. Don’t wait for a cheque!!!I only did the job ‘cus it was Christmas the Chrimbo dinner and all that. When I got there I’d been the 4th person to try and fix a simple fan element fault ….. Two plumbing companies and a sparky had all failed in the 3 weeks before me.. probably ‘cus it wasn’t that a common element and both the trade suppliers locally did not have any in stock.
HTH and good luck
Oh and say after me “never again” without payment up front.

strange how nothing quickly turns to gold….
Monday only 1 job booked at mobile home. Got there BER’d Inde plastic tub WM (backplate). Let’s me know he’s told neighbour I’m coming. Next door WM (handle job) and WP TD duct stat 🙂 Phone rings for lovely dear around the corner – two appliances not working… know her of old… better to explain, demonstrate and practice job on site. Got there Candy multi function oven doesn’t work anymore and grill has never worked… (clock and function switch) Next lovely great condition Zanu IZ….lots of explanation and practice…. just as I’m walking out…TD takes too long to dry – remove lint brick from the door, clean condensor. On the way home, call from letting agent 4 jobs in one house…. oven not working, bare wires, integrated CD knacked and broken toilet handle. (clock, old piece of 6mm left by installers, beyond me and quick buy from B&Q around the corner. So 1 into 10 does go – not my best paid day but bit of running around, and happy.
Today (15), 1 job, two hours with accountant (end of year) afternoon off for my birthday.. 😀 😀 only to spend the afternoon catching up on loads of other paperwork… did get a corking curry for me tea though 😀 : 😀 😀 😀 oh and hour with me son in the garden playing footy- smashing day but not much dosh…
tomorrow… 1 oven repair, then replace a cracked bath panel and couple shower/toilet handles…. even offered to cut the grass ‘cus the property has been empty for 2 mths. getting desperate for work. Thur & Fri less than what UK gets in Eurovison song contest……just under 1 – oh also called booked with local college to discuss ccn1 and ckr/lpg training… got to get some dosh coming in…

ParticipantRe: fdw60 d/washer
had one a couple of weeks ago. Customer assured me it was heating ok
when I looked ntc wasn’t fully home, so re-seated it, checked all connections, worked intermittently ok, so replaced pcb. same result, customer tried it for a few days still the same. I eventually fitted a new heater (which incidently I had checked and megga’d ok) 10 days ago and after a week customer sent me text and said it had ran through 10 washes perfectly 😡 😡 😡 … haven’t done the maths but probably took a hit on this one.
All the time still heating. The only thing I can think is an intermittent heater fault??? I would have thought the heater would fault every time??

just to close the post and for future searches
It was a Delonghi, similar to ESM465 series but cheaper version with no clock.

two different motors – full serial number required to confirm- if you’re sure it’s the fan motor – as ever, unplug appliance before you attempt any work :zap:

strange, I’ve had exactly the same… business not too good or people have just realised their inflated prices and taken their business elsewhere.

ParticipantRe: work dead
The last month has been my worst for 5 years. My wifes’ business is not doing too good but is ticking over and keeping us comfortable. Annual meeting with accountant on Monday so will get a better idea exactly how things are (he always asks for up to date accounts and gives us a good 18,12 and 6 month run down and forecast – he IS worth the money and doesn’t waffle or mince his words – you ignore them at your peril)
IF we hadn’t kept a decent working capital in the bank, might be in trouble, but we’ve got a good cusion to protect us.
However, work (for me especially) has been slowing down for the last 12-9 months but the rate at which it is slowing down has recently accelerated. I have decided to bite the bullet.
I have access to certain funded training (already recently done C&G 2377 PAT testing but have to wait until 23 June to take the second exam). I’m just waiting on course dates for CCN1, ckr and LPG training at local college. Work is that quiet I may as well get it all done now, minimum loss of income.(just really just been putting it off for various reasons).
Few Questions.
Obviously standard gas training followed by modules. LPG is worth it locally and it is quite relevant to rural Lincolnhire, but what about gas tumble driers? I cannot ever remember ever being asked about gas TDs. I cannot find a gas module for it.. Does it come under the heating module?….
Also, gas cooker/hob installs?? What sort of prices do folks charge??
It’s alright, found Gas TD training, it’s a half day module. (plus the on the job training period) Is it really worth it?? Does anyone still use gas TDs?? Not many training providers deliver it.
What else can I do while I’ve got the budget and time??
Sh!t&*$t two months ever. Cost us nearly £1k to keep the two vehicles on the road last month and this month is not much better. My motor was booked in for £300.00 emergency work on Thursday and to cap it all, her car snapped a suspension coil/spring this evening which took out a brand new tyre (only 500miles since new and snip at a ton). To make it worse, recovery company could not get into the car park due to height restrictions and billed her £80.00 for “use of specialist recovery equipment”. A set of car/skate boards they use to move the car to the front of the car park….. 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 Apparently a non-standard recovery… oh boy are the insurance company getting an ear full in the morning. Rant over time for a beer… -
