Yes if the door seal is not sealing on the freezer then it would ice up too much in the freezer.

Then when it defrost it could overflow the drain tray.

DO NOT USE IT as there would be no safety cutout to cut off to the supply if the flame was extinguished

Otherwise as Basil Brush says Boom Boom.

Water will be in the tray as this is the water from when it auto defrost.

If it is overflowing you need to check the fan is running when the compressor is running.

It would be unusual for the tray to overflow and I would check to see if you have a leak on the water solinoid or pipe work for the water and ice dispenser

Yes you will get less problems with separate appliances.

You then have 2 Compressors 1 on each appliance so the wear and and problems are halved.

Daewoo are worth considering Siemans American style are made by Daewoo but cost 4 times as much.

    Daewoo spares are reasonable.

Beko are the cheapest for spares and more basic on there electronics.

So I would say Daewoo or Beko.

If the display is cutting out the problem will be a faulty main PCB on this model.

The PCB is under a cover on the top of this model.

Easy to change PCB and not expensive compaired to most makes of Amercan style fridge freezers.

The fridge freezer is designed to work in normal room temperatures so if it is in a cold place the low ambient temperature will effect the appliance, the temperature should not drop below 10 degrees c
    For it to work correctly.

If you get a fault with the fridge section getting cold at the bottom and warmer at the top then it will be a fan in the freezer fault.

To check the fan is working.

When the appliance is running and you can here the compressor. If you open the freezer door and then press and hold the door switch after a few seconds you should here the fan cut in.

    Thanks for the update.

    Glad to have helped

The Manufactures are no help to us unless you are employed or contract to them.

Hotpoint are now making it difficult by only supplying unprogramed PCB’s on there refrigeration and you cannot program them without the software.

It will only add to the landfill if manufactures do not help the indipendent repairers

Re: WHIRLPOOL MATAG PCB DOES IT COME PROGRAMMED

The PCB has to be programmed.

To program it open the fridge door then hold the door light switch, at the same time press the freezer temperature down – button three times .

Release the door switch the display should then show P E to show program mode.

To confirm program mode you then have to press the freezer temperature down button 1 more time this time without holding the light switch.

You then have to set the 2 digit code on the rating plate.

To set the code you have to press the temperature up + key on the fridge and freezer control until it displays the code.

Once the desired code is displayed press the freezer down – key and hold it down until the code flashes showing the code has been saved.
If it is an invalid code it will flash 0 0 and you have to start again.

If the new PCB is a different Jazz number then the code on the rating plate will not work.
You will then have to use a default code 05 or 15 should work.

Last person to work on the appliance is the first person to be investigated if anything goes wrong.

If you are not Gas Safe Registered the it leaves you as the scapegoat.

I do not bother as it is not worth the risk.

    Re: BEKO Fridge LA120W

If the appliance is low on gas and it does not freeze to the bottom of the wet wall evaporator then it will not turn off the thermostat and this will result in the inside of the fridge freezing.

It gives the same effect as a faulty thermostat but in most cases if a stat fails it will not work.

It is rare for a standard friidge stat to fail so it freezes everything, And as it was freezing before the stat was changed it is 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} a refrigerant fault.

    Re: Duel fuel cooker repairs

You are still leaving yourself at risk as the last person to work on the appliance is responsible.

After any work on a duel fuel appliance a safety test should be carried out as how do you know it was safe before you worked on it and was it installed correctly, ventilation etc.

It is not worth the risk for the odd duel fuel job.

If anything went wrong afterwards the customer would not be on your side and the compo lawyers would love you as the last man to work on it, if you are not gas safe.
