Well to be honest only an engineer who looks at it can difinitively make a call on that. Without testing the appliance its impossible to tell for sure. But E50 is a motor related fault. A competant engineer should be able to diagnose further as to which area of the motor control is at fault. It could be something as simple as a cap’ failed, a blocked fan not allowing the motor to turn, seized drum or as serious as a motor or p.c.b.

Not that easy really, theres a lot of stripping down to be done, power off of course.
Top off then both sides & back off.
    Lift out drum, fit felt.
Rebuild & hopefully no screws left over.

Turn drum with your hand when the doors open, if theres any roughness in the movement it may suggest bearing trouble. Bearings & suspension are not known to be that problematic to be honest unless it has gotten excessive use.

It’s a sensor dryer, heater will be turned off in auto if no clothes in dryer or if not enough to make contact with sensor bars. Try timed drying for testing.

    Re: Electrolux EWX1440W

Its likely its a EWF1440 model,
ED0 is the alarm shown to customer, but when you go into diagnostics you will see specific alarm, eg ED1 ED2 ED3 ED4 or ED6,

ED1 = Data communication error between the WD board and PCB
ED2 = Drying heating element relay #1 faulty
ED3 = Drying heating element relay #2 faulty
ED4 = Relay which commutates power between the washing heating element and drying (in the WD board)
ED6 = No communication between PCB and display board (INPUT)

As already stated many times on here the first thing to check is the dryer element down to earth as its 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time causing the problem.
