Has anybody experienced problems with Hotpoint after sales service
Had interesting one today, customer reported faulty intigrated fridge to Peterborough appointment made for 14 days ahead, engineer called unannounced three days early whilst customer was out.
Engineer left card in customers letterbox stating “sorry could not call today as I could not find your house” 😯

It’s an Ariston with threaded holes
76X3719 element has larger holes so replacement is posible from front without moving oven from housing, You will have to drill out your threads to allow self tappers to pass through plate Dave.

John Lewis give one year manufacturers guarantee then second year is a warranty,insurance based.
Bosch guarantee is normal guarantee for two years.Interestingly if purchasing from JL your machine will be covered for ‘accidental damage’ for the full two years.
In both cases repairs will be carried out by BSH (Bosch Service) or approved independent agents depending on your location.

If all is not working usually find one faulty bulb has blown fuse in plug/spur box 😉 , most kitchen fitters fit a three amp fuse which gets weak over a period of time with high motor starting amps then blows if bulb fails, fit a five amp fuse and all will be well 😀

Sorry Dave, as far as I know not available as seperate item, this bearing spider was also used on some Caremark / Homark machines and they could not get then either. 🙁

Just checked on BSH web site complete spider 26 3726 is listed at £107.18 inc vat retail.
On a previous thread somebody did suggest trying bearing suppliers but no reply with result was posted.

Found relay on the control board
Hi Laurence,
that black box is the main panel transformer 240v input, several different output voltages for different purposes on the board. That is definately reason for not starting, don’t know if QER can help with repairs if not will have to be genuine Neff replacement.
It will just be failure of transformer no other fault on machine can cause this type of failure.

This model is definataly an electronic control machine, reset the regeneration process by holding in the normal button whilst turning on the machine power switch, a number will then show in the display, release the normal button,you then need to set this number to 6 or 7 by pressing the normal button. when set to 6 or 7 switch off the power switch and the new setting will be stored.
When using three in one tablets it is imperitive that salt is still placed in the salt resevoir as the salt in the tablet is not of any use for the regeneration of the softener.
If the inside of your machine is white then it will take several washes to completely restore your softener.

This eliminates the hotplates
Depends on the type of plates fitted, if they are the standard four wire type wired to a six heat switch the plate has three elements inside and one can fail giving low output. If they are the type with red dot (quick heat) there is a thermostat built into the plate which can fail again giving low output. 🙁
If the 145mm plate is a 1000w replace it with the 1500w type
If the 180mm plate is a 1500w replace it with the 2000w type
The extra heat produced will amaze your customer and stop all complaints 😀

If the switch panel was of the electronic type then the salt regeneration must be set for your local water conditions, see your instruction book for details.
Most models while holding in normal wash button,turn on machine power switch – display will then show hardness setting, if your water is hard press normal button until 6 is displayed turn off machine to accept setting machine will then correct white coating over the next 4-5 washes

Your problem is almost certain to be a blockage in the black hose from the base of the chamber in your picture which goes underneath the tub and joins the side of the sump. Clean this out and all will be well

If your machine is one of the better quality appliances it will probably have several safety features built in, ie: anti flood devices in base of machine, electronic controls monitor filling stages so if water valve is energised for more than four minutes programme will abort and machine drain out and stop, this does not apply to many of the cheaper made machines. You pay’s your money and take your chances.

Much the same situation with BSH, in our area retailers are being told two to three weeks delay “we have eleven engineers off sick”, if this is the case why are we as authorised agents not getting calls passed to us to assist? and when asked deny that we exsist.

Hi Ian,
As Wizard say’s if appliance cools down then switches off on defrost then ‘forgets’ to switch back on the fault is the evaporator sensor which I can confirm is ‘foamed in’. 🙁
The mod. kit is not necassary to complete repair, simply identify sensor wires at four pin module plug, locate terminals 1 and 3 cut off sensor leads leaving about 2ins lead still connected onto plug, join them together and insulate, tape up now unused sensor lead and push inside plastic frame out of way. 😀
