Hopefully you emptied it and left door open when you switched it off otherwise possible ice may not have dispersed from evaoporator.
Could be a few things, loss of gas.poor compressor performance.

Could be several things, you would need a meter (megger)to check the insulation throughout the fridge electrics.
Could heve been damp/water which has now dried out.
Safety first= get an engineer to check it out.

They prefer to replace with a decent one having tried with little succes to get the kitchen suppliers interested and following problems with the general work done in the installation.
Having said that the bow in the back was around 1 1/2 ” in the centre of te backplate, worse I’ve seen by a mile,or 3/4″ at least.
    🙂
Have known the folks for many years and they just don’t want the hassle which it would and has been, sadly cowboys win.

Re: hotpoint 30mm inner bearing outer case stuck in tub

Use a 1/2″ britool 12″ socket ext which I have ground the end to sit just in the ledge between bearing casing,at the right angle leaning in on the opposite side and a lump hammer it either moves or fractures, sadly re dressing the end is shortening it’s life as is mine although don’t hget anything like the numbers with the demise of the older machines.
Sometimes marks the entry for the outer bearing but cleans up no problems.
Oh don’t forget to have that extra weetabix 🙂

Had a GEC a few months ago, horizontal motor and all rubber cable up through casing, bit of a challenge had to fix a plate to take a modern type compressor acros the rear.
Used a stock r12 compressor, very handy getting rid of that.
One a year is enough 🙂

For cardboard have a search for a local re cycling business,if you hav the cerriers licence you can take it there and save the cost of them collecting it.

Re: LG side by side, freezer not cooling

If compressor is running ,hot and no refigeration likely there is a refigerant leak somewhere on the system, could also be compressor less likely a system blockage.
You can search on here for your nearest engineer.

Amazing one didn’t come through the drum or crack it.
The inner drum wll be in a sorry state.
She needs a machine with a reject coin button like a parking meter has 🙂

Re: Hotpoint Freezer FZA84G – fan not running

You can trace the fan supply via the connectors back to the control pcb.
The fan is often controlled via the sensor and pcb which will switch the fan on when evaporator temp is -12c approx.
Have in the past when desperate, providing it is an a/c fan connected the fan terminal with the compressor supply at the pcb so it comes on when the compressor runs.

Re: Hotpoint Mistral FF80P Freezer Fan

Changing the way an appliance is designed to run always carries a danger, difficult to say quite what but certainly not adviseable in any way.
I think the yellow thermistor controls the termination of the defrost ie senses when the optimum temperature has been reached to ensure evaporator is clear of frost, possibly 18-20c.
The pcb control will automatically have gone onto a set number of timed defrosts per day as it does when the thermistor fails, with better models it shows an error code, not all have this facility.
You can purchase a replacement quite cheaply on this site spares section.
