True but Baumatic are proper cr4p. Lux are just heading that way.

    Re: AEG oven switches off

    Hi.

Probably not. Usually this can be one of three things in my experience.

1). Main on/off switch contacts failing which means replacing the whole control panel. pt no: 311 38 48-62 / 0.

    2). One of the electronics are acting up. Relay board: 899661 37 43-10 / 4 or power board 311 50 05-00 / 5

3). The main oven thermal cut out rated at 180 oC is operating too early. 311 51 90-05 / 4.

1 & 2 are pricey, 3 is not. Which one it is would be impossible to say really as the electronics are only really able to be tested is by means of substitution & really the same goes for the switch.

I assume that the top oven & grill functions are ok. If not then that opens up some further possibilites such as the cooling fan & the like.

    Hi.

The procedure is exactly the same as Martin has outlined.

    Hi.

How are the temperatures in either compartment? Let me know.

My first thoughts are either a system fault or in some cases the thermostat phial clamp comes away & as this is foamed in is irrepaiable in the field.

    Hi.

There is always the slight possibility that the client has a very twitchy RCD.

    Hi.

You might want to check that the motor tachometer is not loose. This is on the opposite side to the motor shaft & has 2 thin wires going to it.

    Hi.

Penguin is right. Error codes begin with E, not C.

If it is E11, this is a water filling problem.

    Hi.

There will be a fault code in the memory of E52 usually in the case of worn brushes but this is not usually a code displayed to the user.

    Hi.

I would suspect the motor brushes may be worn out.

    Hi.

My money would be that the fan that is bolted onto the motor shaft has worn out.

    Hi.

There are no fuses aside from the one in the plug. Have you tried pluging it into an alternative socket?

    Hi.

I would think that the condensation pump should certainly be replaced. I have had numerous issues with them myself.

I had a course on these about 2-3 months ago.

Diagnostics & fault codes totally different to anything Lux have pushed out.

The air chamber is next to check. It is where the black rubber hose from the pressure switch goes to. They get all gunged up & can cause all sorts of issues.

That is a good point, Mike.

If so, just turn it off, then on, then off, then on again. That should ensure you exit diagnostic fully.
