Re: Hotpoint Aquarius WMA34 slow spin only

You know what customers are like. They interpret faults to how they think fit. you may find its just not draining properly thus not spinning as effectively as it used to.

If this is the same set-up as the normal fronted machines the pcb can be clipped back in place and a screw can be inserted to secure pcb assy.
Had this a number of times on the newer machines.

My concern was what faulted the user board. i know motors can damge the main control board but how did this user board blow? (This board is low voltage)

(It dosen’t look like water ingress.)

These backplates are difficult at the best of times.
I’m afraid you will have to take backplate off again and reseat tub gasket/seal. When you get the backplate and metal strap back in place clamp with a pair of molegrips at the six o’clock position. Then another pair of molegrips at the nine o’clock and three o’clock positions, you should then find it gives you the ability to tighten the nut and bolt to a greater extent thus stopping leaks.

be careful not to damage backplate with molegrips.

    remember unplug machine!!!!!

Re: INDESIT WIL103 Time remaining lights

if they are time delay lights why does it work all functions as soon as you switch on ??

    The mysterious world of Indesits!!!!

As long as the customer is happy with the cycle, just get them off the scent by telling them the lights are getting a spurious signal from the computer. Then you may want to drop the price of the board to them gently.

Persistence with the empty loads finally allowed brushes to seat properly.

Customer has reported all is well and spin isn’t aborting anymore.

must be very sensitive controls on this machine as have had worse seated brushes on other models/makes without this sort of problem.

anyway received cheque in post today. 😀

    Re: ISE heater

The ISE heater is a perfect substitute for bosch heater 265961.

    Tried and tested this week.

Before i order up a replacement do any of you use a substitute?

It is 2kw, 235mm long, has a thermistor hole and the full seal to suit flat tub apertures.

    thanks.

anything that unclips take off and check for obstructions.
    check belt tension.
    clean top and bottom filter.
also if still no suction unscrew bin assembly and clean out the root/cyclone ports. Be careful not to damage bin opening mechanism!

    some helpful pictures as well

Re: DOMESTIC APPLIANCES LIFESPAN AND GLOBAL WARMING

My posting was to indicate another reason to why customers just bin machines. I know call-out charges aren’t the only reason, i never implied that.

    I never said i didn’t charge a call-out! i don’t work for free!

so you don’t think a high call-out / set labour charge is destructive to our industry?

    i stand by my posting.

please do not read between the lines.

Re: DOMESTIC APPLIANCES LIFESPAN AND GLOBAL WARMING

I don’t just believe it is the customer at fault!

I believe the labour charges of some independant repairers is the downfall of this trade as customers if faced with a £40 – £50 call-out charge will potentially loose the mindset to ever call some-one out.

Buy a machine and throw away on first failure purely because of call-out to cost of equivalent machine new.

You also have the repairer who ‘BER’ a machine and make £40 without getting their hands dirty. Not good for the trade long term.

If our charges were more favourable i’m sure we would gain more work and trust of the customer.
