I think this machine is Vestel made, so theres a chance the ISE2 door seal will fit. Part no. 42020405. Click SHOP at the top.
Don’t hold me to it though…

Re: Whats the strangest fault you have come across?

Having to scrape out a dead TOAD, just a bit smaller than the vent hose diameter from a Hoover TV30 dryer. It got all the way to the motor fan…the customer didn’t know until they put the dryer on. These toads apparently used to shelter in an outhouse when it rained. They were meant to come through a modified cat flap, but this one toad mistook the open vent hose for the flap. Ouch…
I can still smell & feel it… It was like squeezing a filled water bomb.

Also had an E1 fault on a Hoover new wave caused by a slug shorting on the module.

Yes but with Amica you get a two year guarantee so can command a higher RRP

Very true in theory but if your budget is £200 then Amica are out of reach. Also customers will see Hotpoints online for £250.

I sell Amica and if you want to make £50 you are selling at £237.00.
(Thats for the 1200 spin model.)

First phone call in this morning….

‘Hello, Tim Downing can I help?’

    ‘Is that Tim?’

    ‘Yes, how can I help?’

‘Why is your phone being diverted?’

‘So all my calls go to my mobile!’

    ‘Why? Aren’t you open yet?’

‘Yes I’m open, Im on my way to my second call.’

‘Ok. My gas cookers not working.’

‘Sorry I don’t repair gas cookers.’

    ‘You have repaired it before.’

‘No I have never repaired cookers.’

    ‘Ok bud.’ phone goes dead.

Grrrr. Who do people think they are?

    😡

If the back of the dispenser gets blocked then you would get water come out of the vent pipe. Theres a ridge at the very back that gets clogged.
Also, maybe the dispenser hose has got blocked with what she cleaned out of the dispenser itself.
You could always take a photo of the plastic bit she found and post it on here.

Martin you should have asked her for a multiple choice of faults. And then played your 50:50.
By the way do you think she was fiery because she has bleached hair or that she’s Chris Tarrant’s girlfriend?

I dont want to seem rude, but if you want to save your machine then I would call out an engineer it may be the safest bet. As it sounds like you may be undoing things you shouldn’t.

The earlier heater assy’s had one stat on top of the heater assy & a one shot inline cut-out inside the heater assy.

The later type ones had the one shot stat on the left & the normal operating stat on the right.

Is your heater the early version?

For test purposes only you can by-pass the hidden one shot inline cut-out.

Re: Doesn’t Fill… H/point WMD960 Fitted EMW Part But Diff

Ive had a few of these f1, no fill, door locking, not unlocking. Ive always done a revert back to hotpoint using the 5 years parts cover.

(Do check the motor, tacho & motor wiring as I did get lucky with one of the machines with a bad connector on the motor.)

Did you check the heater? It could have faulted due the it coming on with no water? The end of the pressure tube could be blocked?

Did you blow up the presure tube? Not advisable on the machines with the digital pressure sensor.

Assuming Ive read the post correctly….?

    The programme selection sounds fine.

The 29 minute wash should illuminate the 30 minute led when its starts, as it is less than 60 minutes in duration.
Any cycle over 60 minutes will cause the start light to illuminate at the beginning.

If you select spin or drain the 15 minute led will illuminate.
I think she may have you on a wild goose chase?
Run it on its diagnostics just to keep her happy.
Do check the heater isn’t open circuit as this can cause programme cycles to extend.

    Downright scandalous

I agree. Perhaps this is where the WTA could use their weight and, using freedom of information, ask for proof that machines have been replaced. Or even speak to some advertising body??
This sort of advertising can really hurt us independents.

    WTA what do you reckon?

    Ta.

I would check for obstructions elsewhere before changing the pump. You say the pump turns by hand, does it turn in normal operation?
