Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Sorry but I’d put that down to bad business practice rather than annoying customers. I always tell them that I’ll need paid on completion and if machine is not draining it’s water I’ll tell customer on the phone that I’d expect to fix it on my first visit and it’ll cost between £40 and £60 or whatever your charges are.

Don’t be afraid to tell the customer your terms before they drag you out 💡 , suppose you’ve learned that now anyway.

First thing I’d do on an Indesit machine with the door “locking on” but not doing anything else is check the brushes . Had 2 this week which was very nice work for a change :).

I’d have a very close look at the pressure hose again , prone to chaffing and rubbing through leaving a very small hole and perhaps only loosing pressure when water level increases.

Thanks Steve but this one turned out to be nothing more than the carbon brushes being very badly worn (but motor still turning) and causing the electronics to cut off due to excess arcing at the commutator as the motor built up speed.
Clean commutator , new brushes fitted and all is well :D.

Speak about being misled by what a customer tells you on the phone , well I’ve got to blame someone .

You gave the answer a while back 😆 , slightly different model no. but it uses the same grill element.

SEME would be my choice of supplier .

According to my dodgy paperwork system I normally use CBN9213 from Connect on that model.

Yes Wilf , I agree but remember they`re collecting £90 labour charge every time (and parts at cost) which makes things a little easier.

A full 5 year parts and labour guarantee , only the very best and most confident manufacturers can offer that sort of guarantee IMO.

    Re: Beyond Belief

I sent them an e-mail asking if the 5 year warranty was either a manufacturers or a major insurance company warranty.

The reply came back “we are offering the free guarantee” whatever that means :?.

Think we`re all agreed that this looks extremely dodgy and not really a proper guarantee :rolls:. Bet they`ve shifted quite a few of those Bosch machines on that deal though and I doubt if Bosch would be very happy with empire direct using such tactics :x.

    Hi Ken

It clearly states on that page (highlighted in red just below the picture) that it includes free 5 year guarantee :?.

I think these are Whirlpool made but you need to double check that model no. I can find APSSO/1/WH??? and the thermostat is listed as part no. 481228228233. The 12 digit number beginning with 85………. would help too.

An integrated washing machine for £349 😯 , I`d definitely call that cheap. Mind you I agree on the not so cheerful bit.
