    1. Have you ckecked the new lamp with a meter (occasionally new lamps are faulty)
    2. Did you make sure the lamp was screwed in fully?
    3. If it still won’t light up then you may need an engineer

Re: Indesit WG1234T Setting Not Working

you say it works on a 90 degree cycle…does it complete the wash all the way to spinning out?….if not then it may just be the cold inlet valve that has failed.
On the 90 program it will fill with hot only, 60 prog it will take a mixture of hot and cold and on the 40 it will just fill with cold so if the cold water supply isn’t there it will not start the wash.

    What an excellent idea!

Why not start a topic in tech enquiries titled something like ‘Manufacturer Cross Reference’ ? ….we could all post individual part similarities between different manufacturers, not only useful for the cheapest part but also when a manufacturer/supplier is out of stock of that particular bit?

yep…that would be the stat at fault!
If you post again on the public parts enquiry stating the make model and serial number then others will find a part number and price for you.

    Re: APL 2114 Explosion

    Hi Sam
The glass will have broken because pressure has been applied to it…it is usually toughened glass so when it breaks it will catastrophically shatter into small pieces.
You need to ascertain what has put pressure on it and rectify that before you replace the glass….you say it was not heating up as quickly which might suggest the hinges are faulty preventing the door from sealing correctly. Often this will cause the outer glass to ‘catch’ somewhere near the bottom. Some models have built in coil type springs in the hinges which can break, unwinding their tension and hitting the glass from the inside.
If you post the make, model number and serial number then others can tell you the part numbers and cost of the parts.

Re: Water leak Bosch SMS4472GB HELP!!

no…it means there is a food residue blockage between the metering tank and the sump. This is quite common and easily rectified by removing the offending hose and cleaning it!
If you are going to have a go yourself then don’t forget to unplug before you open your tool box :zap:

The pump is located at the bottom of the cabinet…usually accessed by carefully tipping the mchine back against the wall…if you’re going to take a look in there then you’ll need some hand tools, and don’t forget to unplug the machine before you do anything!

Re: diplomat oven element and fan

    hi tel

Six months is not very long for any element to last so surely you could argue with the repairer? (whatever the stated guarantee)
I like many others give a no-quibble guarantee for 1 year on my repairs so if the repairer is reputable then they must be approachable especially considering the cost to that repairer to replace the element again would not be too great.

    Re: Diplomat APL 8215

actually the blockage can be either in the metering tank on the left hand side and/or the hoses that connect it to the sump. They are known for breaking wires in the door and that usually causes them not to fill but it wouldn’t put the heater on and try to wash if that were the case.

…and a good tip is to use emery paper to clean the shaft after you knock the fan back and before you pull it forwards and off 😉
