    Re: PAT testing?

Unless I have misunderstood the regs – unless the cooker has a fitted 13 amp plug, they are not classed as portable appliances and would be tested in the normal fashion. Any cookers connected by seperate wall plate supply are classed as fixed appliances.

Re: water despensor really stuck ETC (SAMSUNG RS21 dgrs MODE

Take a piece of advice – stop throwing parts at it. The water flow comes from the valve at the back through the chiller water tank and then on to the dispenser. If the water tank is frozen up then no water to dispenser, this is usually caused by the evaporator cover being frozen. If the cover is frozen up then the fan will not be going around and replacement of the fan will not rectify the fault only cause a delay until it freezes again. You need to replace the evaporator cover (which comes with the fan), check the thermal fuse and two heaters and probably change the defrost sensor. I doubt that the water valve will be faulty.

Thermistor(s) or PCB unless you know what you are doing you need a fridge engineer or put up with it. Remember that from time to time this will defrost the freezer area causing the thermistor to note the temperature being higher than normal and bringing the warning light on. It should not cause the frozern food to warm up

We’ve been working on them for about two years and haven’t changed a seal yet – perhaps you should check if you can change the seal on the Hotpoint or whether you have to change the whole door.

You shouldn’t have done any damage other than to the electric bill 😆 however, you will now have to totally defrost the appliance and start from scratch.

I think you will get away with it as you have an installed heater that maintains the temp above zero.

First off defrost the thing – that means switching it off for two days with the doors open and then restarting the unit. If that clears the problem you have a result, if not I would suggest you have a problem with the electronic module at the top.
