Re: John Lewis JLWM 1407 not rotating

your post is a bit confusing

let say you select a wash. it fills and does not turn ?

the way you describe it sounds like its ok on the wash but has trouble spinning

anyway most likely fault is the motor carbon brushes. they wear with age so is a common fault

this may sound stupid but try this

find the wash heater. disconnect both wires and tape them up for safety.

then see if it will spin.

I realise it wont wash because it has no heater but we get problems with electronics if the heaters have a slight fault to earth. not enough to blow any trips but just enough to mess with the electronics

if the machine does a self check as it starts it may well reject this test as it cant see the heater but it cant help to try.
also I am assuming there is a solid electric supply. As the motor goes into spin it draw more current rapidly. if the supply to the machine is fed with incorrect or faulty cables or components their will be a sudden volt drop which could upset the electronics

Re: Miele G1182SCVi Dishwasher door latch

1 do you have to press a button to open the door or just pull

    a) just pull :- find an old wire coathanger and cut about 12 inches off it. bend one end in a loop ( to stop you poking your eyes out) the other end bend the last quarter inch at 90 degrees. with a bit of luck there is just enough room to get it in the door hook and pull it forward into the open position

    b) if you have a button to open the door. do the same as above but as you pull push the button

    hope it helps

Re: Smeg A2 2da Cooling Fan Problems

it will be somewhere bolted to the metal work of the oven normally in the top somewhere but don’t know this model well enough to be certain

one thing a can say is one of the wires feeding the fan should go to the stat so if you trace it back through them harness you should find it

with the power off of course

    Re: Indesit IDC85 Pump issues

the float is probably used as a water container full detector. the power to the dryer goes through the microswitch. when activated the third wire feed a light on the front of the machine saying something like ” container full”

when you say the pump is running constantly do you mean even if the unit door is open and not operating ?

probe is fine as long as it is not in contact with the element.

these thermostats are a mechanical device. oil in the sensor expands with the heat and is fed down a tube to a bellows in the main housing, they wear with age and go out of calibration. if the light goes out then the stat has turned off the elements if the elements had failed the light would never go out

Re: Electrolux double oven not getting hot enough

elements normally either work or not so its most likely your thermostat

this is the thermostat for the main fan oven

if your not sure you could get

to measure the temp in the oven

    hi m8
have merged your 2 posts as they about the same thing (with my new powers from god lol )

think you will have to find out a bit more info about it. knowing if it induction or not may help. could it be any kind of child lock ?

had a look around but without a specific model cant even get the owners manual to look at troubleshooting. looked at indesit website but found nothing

Re: Bosch Exxcel 1200 Express poor spin

if water has only been on a bit it means one of your inlet valves is failing and it can only get worse so you will have to keep an eye on it

most common cause of no spin is out of balance loads. been to a few houses where they think its ok to spin 1 pair of jeans and called me in after it fails

most of the time if it will do the full spin with no load it will do it with a load provided its balanced

Re: Bosch Exxcel 1200 Express poor spin

you inlet valve is not sealing properly but its only a drip every now and then so will not affect the spin but its a warning that if you go away for any length of time turn the water off. I do to the whole house if I go away for more than a few days

I would run the machine on a rinse with no clothes in it. then either wait or select pump and see how long the machine takes to drain. what your looking for is the water to drain at a reasonable rate. your looking to drain all the water in under 1.5 mins or there abouts
also you say hoses are clear but how did you check?. What you have to remember is if you blow down a hose it can seem clear even with a partial blockage but water will find it a lot more difficult
would not be the first time I have found a button jammed half way up an outlet hose. Also you say the hose is in an open waist pipe, make sure it is only in the top of the pipe no more than about 8 inches, it should not be pushed to the bottom
