Re: Replacement cut-out/stats for Hoover/Candy t/d heater el

i dont want to pour water on a good idea but what if?

since the users abuse this appliance and if the dryer catches fire can you prove the parts you fitted did not comprimise the safety of the appliance or deviated from the manufacturers spec

from my point of veiw i would not chance it they bought the dryers in the first place so its up to them and next time you can advise the best appliace to buy that can be repaired at a reasonable cost

if its the same as the one i did last week

the holes that mount the bottom of the glass are about 2 inches nearer the middle of the door. if you look on the door you have, if you moved the screws they would be in mid space.
answer two pieces of stainless steel strip to bridge the gap. you will need to find 2 self tap screws for the lower glass bracket but apart from that no probs

if you have replaced board and shorted pressure switch ( for test puposes) then can only be an ntc prob try measuring NTC from board

connections H1 and H3 accoring to manual 4850 ohm at 25 degrees

you could disconnect NTC and short out with 5k resistor and see if heater kick in

have got tech info if you want it but cnat thinks of anything else you have not checked or changed

how are you setting the dryer

are you setting an automatic programme if so you need wet clothes in it and clean the sensor in case customer has been using bounce type sheets

try it on a timed programme see if it stops then

i assume the no light on the top oven display

from the part lists both boards are the same do a swop

from the limited diagrams i have there seems to be a transformer on the board check the primary winding for open circuit may be a transformer failure and you may be able to source one

had a similar fault on another cooker ended up transformer was 12v out put so used a 12 halogen transormer i had lying around to provide power to the board which prooved board was ok then found a replacemant transformer and fixed the board saving the cutomer over £70
