    Re: Samsung – Fridge Freezer

defrost it for 48 hrs – itll probably cure it!!!

long term? if it persists, it’ll need a thermal fuse, and evaporator cover

try it.. nothin to lose is there? (other than yer freezer food , just run it down 1st)

    hope this helps

your right – its not that straight forward and im not exactly sure that a ‘reputable’ repair center advising that it aint too difficult is the right thing to do

drum removal IS necessary, and theres a few sharp edges…..

i think its probaby best if someone who was qualified to do so did the repair , for safetys sake

cant comment on call out charges, as they differ greatly from firm to firm, but if you did attempt this repair, u must wear suitable safety gloves, and with the plug removed

Re: Hoover Easy Logic EL160 Problem

theres only 2 ways u’ll ever reset that machine

first is the way listed in the manual – that is to press and hold the start button for 15 seconds, regardless of the message on the display. there used to be a battery on the front board on the machine, so if u got stuck you could take out the battery and refit it to cancel everythin, but they changed that, and they take months now before they reset themselves

if that doesnt work, itll probably need a control board (and a selector switch, if you want to make sure it’ll stay fixed)

good machine, but the boards arent cheap

    hope this helps

so u’ll lay out best part of £900 to change an appliance that , at the outside needs a thermal fuse, possibly a sensor?

    makes no sense

im changing the fuses everytime i change the evaporator cover, and theyre not coming back….

although ive also seen some lg machines require control boards rather quickly – so its your call

whirlpool ones tend to be better

trouble is, if it is blocked, and merloni come to it, they’ll bill you, wont they?

the manual always suggests rinsing plates before puttin them in the dishwasher

    good luck

Re: Bearing change on an LG – tips?!

ease depends on whether its belt driven or direct drive?

not sure u can buy just the bearing kit on its own, we usually fit the rear half of the tub

if u read certain posts, bearing kits are around £10 😯 , available just about everywhere 😯 and takeabout 30 minutes…. 😯

in reality, its not easy, the tub has to come out from the front, and be split, and suitable bearings and seal fitted

cant explain it blow by blow, but id be sure u got plenty of room, patience, and safety gloves (but im sure it would be worth it financially as lg machines arent cheap)

oh, and make sure its unplugged
