There is a metal talb that locks the lifter on, this needs to be bent up and angled so that when you push it on it clips behind the plastic rib, I then put a thin screwdriver through the hole above it when it on and try and put it up further to make sure it stays on.
Some times if the customer continue to use it with out the lifter the metal talb snaps off. I then drill an should it with a stainless screw in the lip of the lifter.
Been doing it for years like this.

So why be so negative, why would anyone at this stage take a negative view toward this venture? If they choose to enter the lower end of the market, as I would suspect is the best option, they should be well away. And if they then wish to build sustainable sales & after sales service network then indies throughout the UK will be the first to want part of the action.
“Never in the in the field of washing machine manufacturer was so much owed by so many to so few!”…………..Makes you proud to be British don’t it? 8)
I’m sceptical because Iv seen it before, anyone remember “Reason”. They setup promising the world, my parents live near where they setup in Pembrokeshire, Now they have gone bust not even making it to market.
The industry is saturated by low cost high volume products.
As much as people don’t like Indesit/Beko they build a very decent product for a price point. Then you have the Korean’s, Both Samsung and LG have the resources to dominate te market.
Take Samsung, they have taken over almost every market they have entered. AV, Phoes and computers. Then LG are not far behind.
The question is do we really need another manufacture, is there really a market.
I’m skeptical because its like someone saying I’m going to start another supermarket chain.

The boards on these are VERY susceptible to damp, Likely knackered unfortunately
It never a good ideal to put machines outside, people assume because its working with water it will be ok.
Well inside the tank may be but not the electronics.

Im fully aware of what we are good at. I had shares in ARM and did very well out of them, I also know that we are massive in aerospace as I have a few friends who work for GE Aerospace and Airbus making the wings for the A380 and landing gear for the Dreamliner
Add to that McLaren and almost all of F1 based in the Uk, Rolls Royce Engines , Hell we are probably the best at highly technical low volume products BUT at producing mass produced low value goods we never seem to be able to get it rite.
I agree the unions killed it but even then the British workers attitude to mass produced always seems to end badly.
This is changing though, John Bloor bought the rights to Triumph Motorcycles and from scratch rebuilt the brand to the massive success it is today built In UK, Iv been to the factory and its very impressive but Bloor states him self he was warned that he would not succeed but what he learnt was how the Japanese and Chinese build there bikes, they then brought these techniques to the UK and they have succeeded.
For this to succeed they need to do something different, building just another washing machine won’t work.

Iv never understood the whole British is best crap. In fact if you look back at British engineering such as cars they were plagued with problems. I don’t see any issues with machines being built in places like china.
What has killed it is the retail sectors constant price cutting forcing manufactures to cut costs
The welded drum was inevitable, every industry moves to a simpler cost effective design. The same arguments were had when surface mount components were introduced in electronics, computers moved away from OEM parts over to custom fully integrated designs like laptops.
Manufactures will always move to a simpler more cost affective design, its evolution, I’m not saying its ideal for us but it is what it is.
Iv always said that on the efficiency label there should also be a repair ability rating. Giving customers an idea to treat it like a toaster or not.

Have you reconnects the float switch correctly.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WF & WMD etc super silent boards
This fault tends to be caused by the motor catching the heat sink. Check it for signs of light damage on the aluminium, as for what blows not sure
Normally if you can see some damage change the shocks a well

ParticipantRe: Too strong water pressure
I’d agree with den. If its syphoning it will keep adding water.
Make sure the drain hose is installed with it coming up the back of the machine at least 3/4 of the way up then down into your drain, the make sure that end end of the drain hose is not under the water that sits in the pipe. The end must be in open air.

Hmmm Iv had a few of the dehumidifies on the bench. Very cheap plastic inside.
Fan mounts snapped and a seized motor.

At exsacky what point for F13 show. Wash or dry ? How long in ?
I have had a few where the board plays up as well but 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it’s te drier NTC.
just to confirm you have replaced the one towards the front of the drier box, you had to split it open to change.

ParticipantRe: Failure Rates & Product Quality
A very good read, we all see some makes fail and often comment about how cheap and crap they are but the thing I always say to people is a engineer only sees the broken ones, customers don’t call I say it’s working fine.
In reality people often abuse machines, overloading and incorrect program’s.
No mater how good its built something will fail.

In guessing The Italian company got it pulled. There was a notification last week that they would be on it and that a further update would be issued but nothing came.
Tbh as far a i know it’s been very small numbers that have gone and in reality you have no idea I the machine was over loaded, used with lifters missing, coin damage ect.

One the older models they are the same , they now fit a newer improved part as they had so many failures with it when fitted in the drier. They never play up in the water heater. It’s something to do with the sensor getting to hot and the glue inside failing,
The new part is a direct replacement for the old one, its white in colour rather than black.
F13 is also most always that sensor failed.
