Eliminate carbon brushes and heating element, especially low insulation faults

    Re: hoover CA232

Just another thought, but as a quick way of eliminating blockages, pump problems etc,
why not run a 240v supply directly to the pump?
an old mains lead with a couple of spades should do the trick..

Watch out for leaks onto the pump, also check all connectors pushed hard onto main pcb.

or a hole cutter to cut a round blank that you can glue into the redundant hole.

always helps to know a friendly kitchen fitter that you can leave just such doors with, but make sure you charge your customer for the privilege!

No, I will give machine a thorough check over,
was a bit rushed today, never been so busy, booking 15 jobs a day 2 or 3 days in advance at the moment 😯

Thanks for your help. Will post back when I cracked it.

    Thanks Paul

The :55 shows up no matter looks where I set the program, it looks like a time countdown rather than a fault code.

Shouldnt the time clear as soon as the dial is moved and not revert back to 55?

    Re: Is this Ber??

Sounds like quite a large hole, I have had good success using metal putty as subs suggested combined with a thin metal plate (coke can) held on with short self tapping screws, better to self tap than drill unless you have the thinest of drills, then a layer of debor over that.

As always its about weighing the potential risks, but up at the top of the tank should be ok.

    Re: SIMPLE PCB REPAIR TIPS

Amazing how many dodgy Servis PCBs in particular respond to a well tightened edge connector. Scary to think how many i have declared knackered in the past that may have just needed a quick squeeze?!

Start button/pcb on Servis Tumble dryers that will not stay “started” check the big ceramic resistor which are easily available for recycling from your old stock of modules.

    Re: Bad Payers

    The lesson is blatantly obvious.

Make sure you know before you do any work that money is available.

    Explain the costs
(not the exact fault, beware the diy brigade)
then say “would you like me to go ahead now ?”
This usually prompts a conversation about money.

If you are still not sure, just ask again, and keep asking until you are sure the money is available.

Havnt been ripped off by a customer for years,
but was lucky enough to have been ripped off when I first started out and never forgot the lesson!

    Re: Bosch carbon brushes

own experience with pattern brushes from qualtex has always been positive, never used anything else but pattern over last god knows how many years.

You do need to ensure they are contacting armature before replacing motor though as 1 in every 10 won’t then its a bugger stripping motor back off.

Low insulation on motor, carbon brush dust build up or water leak onto motor?

    You are a genius!

Replace capacitor as described does indeed cure this common fault

    Thanks
