ParticipantRe: Bosch 1200 washing machine softener nightmare
Update
Stripped dispenser down, gave the top a jetwashing, customer now happy!
Have to wait and see how long it lasts?
Thanks again for input.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWF1437w E34
pressure switch?
In the ukwg manual E34 is not listed but all the other E30s listed are pressure switch faults.
Not to sure about the whining though 😕 are you sure thats not your customer?

After watching the clip about “stuff” that ken posted i would of thought it a no brainer ( retail, sales etc ) but then that would depend on the salesman also?missed that ‘clip’, could you point me at it?

As an individual you have to be a comprehensive engineer to survive in this industry, more strings to your bow as they say but this comes from training and experience not something you can just decide to do. I am bit puzzled to your questions are you talking about your own capabilities or are you talking about a management position?I left out the reason I was asking as I did’nt want it to divert attention from the question. The reason I ask is that I am taking someone on in the new year (Washing machine repairer) and we have 5 months in which to get him trained up in a diverse area, to add more strings to our bow. We have plans regarding that but it never harms to do a bit of ‘brain storming’!
A White Goods business near to me has gone from strength to strength over the last 2 years and concentrates almost exclusively now on retail finished goods and spares, and has over the last 2 years taken on 3 new staff to process and package sales of spares from ebay, amazon and others. 5 or 6 years ago they were heavily into repairs and even recon machines, now they keep their hands clean and all drive nice cars!

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint wd440 spins on drying cycle
machine was bought in december 06.
I think machine took off into a spin without distribution cycle, like zanussi machines when tacho magnet falls off.
Did not get info sheet with pcb regarding turbo dry function as it is a refurbished board from emw.

ParticipantRe: Zanussie ZWX1605W stops during wash and rinses
This range seem to be plauged with odd faults like this. Had to stop recommending Zanussi machines because of this model
Just a thought, have you checked heater, motor for low insulation?

ParticipantRe: Bosch 1200 washing machine softener nightmare
Thanks for all the input
I think the idea of always having a ready cleaned out dispenser is a cracker.
Had a thought after reading Martins reply that both valves are energised, of knocking up a power lead to connect to both valves to energise them and thus be able to check the operation of softener at will.

ParticipantRe: Door seal lip repair?
Has anybody tried repairing this sort of tear by any means, fair or foul, and had any success?
Mike.Had customers tell me about attempted repairs and the most succesful method seems to be bike inner tube repair patch stuck on with superglue.
Swopped brushes on a dead indesit recently, I think it was a wd41 which had the door seal mended in this fashion and the customer said it had been like that for over a year with no problems 😯

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Welded Tub
Got a stone out from front of one of these last week using a tip I read on this forum some time ago which is rig up a piece of pressure hose into a larger pipe that will attatch to a vacuum cleaner.
You need to experiment to get the greatest amount of suction with varios size pipes etc but once you get it right it works a treat and you can keep the ‘suction kit’ for future jobs.
You just need to lever the drum slightly, I use a ring spanner because the offset gives just the right amount of drum movement without any damage,
The only snag is it can look a little to easy when you come to charge your £50 or whatever if you only take a couple of minutes to vacuum out an obstruction.neilsukwg
ParticipantRe: Bendix BIW125W Only Pumps
Tried the pressure switch, but not checked the inlet valves.
Thanks, will check that.

ParticipantRe: LG auto wm-14225fd
Got exact same problem to sort out with same model.
You could always call JTM who is now the main dealer for LG 6871ER1009F and get price should be around £68 + vat This should be the correct part number for that model.
Did JTM turn out to be the best/cheapest supplier, how do I contact them?
Anyone know if EMW repair these boards?

ParticipantRe: Hoover Experts Help Required! Hoover HNF 6167
Thanks for that info and the link,
Never thought of checking the steam vent which like the sump gives you offset access to the paddle screw at the top of the drum. Armed with a good quality torx T10 (Bahco) and a quarter inch wiggle bar, the first paddle was off in minutes!
Would probably be a good idea for any one interested to check this job out in advance next time you scrap a Hoover.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WF540 – F10 fault
Got this same machine in my garage because had to sell customer a new one ‘Bosch’
Changed module and pressure switch to no avail as well as checking repeatedly all obvious stuff, wiring, plugs, ntc etc.
Strange thing was that the fault is intermittent, although majority of the time fault is present, dam machine will occasionally work!?

ParticipantRe: Pathetic!
Just out of interest, what are you guys charging for this kind of sweaty job?
