When you said you cleaned the mushroom , are you referring to the big grey mushroom shaped float at the rear quarter ?

My money would be on a gunged up level float switch . This is situated in the sump at about the 5 o’clock position. Take out the grid and filter and remove the small grey cover at the 5 o’clock position on the edge of the sump. Under the cover you will find a small grey/clear float. Remove and clean this float making sure you make a note of which way up it goes and also throughly clean the channel which the float runs up and down in . You may find thius channel clogged up with grease/fat/gunge and if it is , it restricts the floats movement giving false water levels . I find pouring some very hot water down the channel successful. Then replace float , cover and hopefullythe appliance will start filling correctly again.

To be honest Ally , its the removal and fitting of the condensor box thats the pain . Ordering a new box doesn’t help at all if its blocked , as it’ll just need cleaning out.

There are a couple of screws that are a bit of a pain to get to and normally its the refitting thats the real PITA !!!

….and if the condensate water valve is ok , i’d be looking at a blocked condensor box . Good luck with that because it can be a pig of a job…..mainly getting the lower hose back on properly. If you do have to take it off , make sure you check round the back of the hose to ensure its fully on ( A mirror is the best thing ) It may look like its on fully but don’t be fooled 🙂

Try getting a wooden spoon and giving the salt a little stir with the handle . There might be a lack of salt over the low-salt sensor

This is one to check….as it has happened to me. Make sure your fingers are clean when you try and switch the appliance on . I had one where after a repair , neither myself or the customer’s husband could switch the thing on but the customer could. Turned out we had dirty fingers. I proved it to myself by putting a bit of kitchen roll round my finger and it worked….take away the paper and nothing !!!

A good lesson learned lol 🙂

The pump is on the RHS as you look at the machine. It can be a bit awkward to remove if you havn’t done the job before.

If its saying ’empty container’ , there are a couple of possible’s . I’d first be checking the hose/connection at the rear of the area that the water container slides into. This is prone to blocking with fluff.

Then its the drain pump/sump area that may need to be cleaned out .

2 main possibles…..as F21 is motor circuit fault

    Brushes worn in motor
    or
    Faulty module.

You will need to enter the test programme to clear the fault display.

IIRC on this model , its selector knob round to the 6 o’clock positiion. Finger on the spin speed selector button and turn the selector one click clockwise – release the button and you’re in the test programme. Now , the F21 display may not go straight away so you may need to turn the machine back off and repeat the process.

Then check the motor brushes !!

There’s a couple of things i’d be looking at . Is the door closing properly ? i.e are the hinges still nice and strong and properly ‘klunking’ the door shut .
Is the fan running at full speed ?

There’s only one element in the main oven and they normally either work or they don’t so its definitely a bit of a strange one and unfortunately difficult to diagnose without proper temp testing

There’s no guarantee that it’ll last 5 weeks let alone 5 yrs . It’s just not possible to make any declaration on longevity of a 9 yr old machine.

It comes down to your own choice…..

Does the rinse cycle work ok ? If it does , then my guess would be the hot fill valve has failed and is not energising when hot water is called for.

Testing the resistance of the hot water valve would be a start – you should be looking for approx 3.5 – 4.5kohms

Gareth , on the label/etching on the top of the inner door will be your ENR number SE56590gb/07 and then after this you will find an FD number . It will be a 4 digit number. This will tell you how old your machine is.

The first 2 digits represent the year of manafacture but you will need to add 20 to it to get the year

The last two digits represent the month of manafacture .

    i.e FD 8309 = 2003 september
    FD 8012 = 2000 december
    FD 7703 = 1997 march

Did you take off the hose between drawer and tub to clean it or just clean it in-situ ?

It sounds like the hose is blocked but if its been properly cleaned then its a weird one.

Oh , and as well as cleaning the hose between rear of tub and container , did you clear out the tube where it connects to the container and the container itself ? ?

The temp limiter will ‘click’ if its popped open circuit. If the red button doesn’t click then its likely that the temp limiter is ok.

I’m guessing that you have the rear panel off so looking at the back , the heater connections are on the right hand side . Disconnect these and check the continuity between the two prongs.

I can’t go into too much detail due to forum rules.
