Rich . as i posted above , it will probably be the flow meter causing the fill/drain/fill/drain prob.

The flow meter tells the machine how much water is coming into the machine . If this is faulty , it causes the machine to overfill…thus switching on the pump. Once some water has drained out , the machine will then start filling again then drain then fill.

You should try and replace the flow meter as its pennies and 99 out of a 100 will clear the fault.

The grey box is the ‘aquastop’ . Basically its the electronic water valve and safety device.

Please power off and turn mains water off before fixing

The fridge and freezer seems to be at healthy temperatures.
I would agree that it makes most sense that there are two sensors in the fridge. HOWEVER, with the fridge door open I only saw one sensor resistance drop. This was the one I shorted out and I assume is in the insulation at the back…. If the other sensor were also in the fridge I would have expected to see it change too.
If anyone knows for sure where these sensors are I’d be interested to hear.
    Thanks

They are inside the insulation in the rear wall of the freezer IIRC….hence the inability the actually replace the thermistor , just work a way round it with the modification.

it would all depend on the engineer really. Some would change as a matter of course…some would only do it if they deemed it to be noisy.
Even when the fan is running on these models , it’s hardly discernible and shouldn’t cause you to have to close your kitchen door .
Did the engineer who modded the appliance leave you a job sheet ? It should show all the parts that were replaced on the mod call-out .

Yes , it would . Some of the inital fans that were fitted had a lack of ‘padding’ on the rear of the fan body causing a vibration against the rear wall…hence the appliance sounding like a motorboat.
The other probs that could cause a noisy fan is a repeat of the ice build up at the rear of the evaporator or the pipes of the evaporator being too close to the fan.

Gerard , has it always been excessively noisy ? If you look at the label on the left hand side wall , you will see a section with an FD number i.e FD 8606
If its between 8605 and 8611 , then it may have an inherent noisy fan.
Even if its over 2 yrs old , it may be worth contacting BSH to explain your problem. We may be quite sympathetic to your situation if you’ve had previous problems.

If you look at the brush , it will have one side longer than the other . This longer side goes on the same side as the connector that attaches to the brush itself .

i.e If the connector comes in from the right hand side , then that the longer edge of the new brush

condenser light or empty container light ?
If you’ve emptied the water container and cleaned out the actual condensor , then the most probable cause is a blocked drain pump.
The pump has a microswitch that makes when the water level in the sump reaches a certain level. This , in turn , will operate the pump. If the pump is blocked , and after switching on for a few minutes , the level sensor doesn’t see a change in level , it thinks the water container is full…hence the ’empty water’ led lighting.
The pump is situated on the lower left hand side , as you look at the machine , if you want to check –

Power off before you start to investigate

This applaince DOES have the flow meter fitted – The flow meter will be the prime suspect as this is the classic flow meter failure fault symptons

    – part No 424099

The flow rate meter is connected to the mains water hose inside the appliance.

Its also worth checking to see if there is a float level switch by the filter area . There might be a small grey cover at approx the 5 o’clock position as you look at the round sump where the filter fits. Pop the cover off , if its there , and there will be a small cylindrical float insde .This can sometimes get ‘gunked’ up and stick , causing level problems – Remove and clean the float and its channel , making sure you make a note of which way up te float goes for when you re-fit it.

Hi Kathy…it’s not really a fast freeze button….we call it a winter switch as it’s designed to allow the frige freezer to be used in slightly colder conditions. It does indeed leave the light on at about 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} i think.

If you get a chance of looking round a shop , look for a model number KGV28xxx . These are not frost free but should have the winter switch function. You can see it in action by pushing the door switch whilst the door is open to see the light change intensity.

Dave , unfortunately there’s no in-built delay facility for this machine .
It would have to be some Heath-Robinson contraption to get this working on a timer .

99 times out of a 100 , it won’t be the hinge . It’ll be a bent inner door panel. I’ve done numerous faults like this when the customer or their kids have stood or fallen on the door . Look at the lower door corner edges where the hinges are screwed in – You’ll probably find it bent out of shape at that point. You could try re-forming it but i’ve never been successful . Always had to replace the inner door panel .

For the model and buttons you’ve put down , it should be coded to 1 which will be LED 2 only lit.

Re: bosch kgn33v60gb -fridge temp too high

TBH , you should give BSH a call as there is a modification kit that is fitted to these appliances to prevent a return of the fault you’re describing .

Basically whats happened is the airways for the fan that blows the cold air into the fridge compartment are blocked with ice build-up , so no cold air will reach the fridge section. The mod kit allows a much better de-frost stage of the machines defrosting cycle thus stopping the problem of the ice build up.

By switching off and defrosting manually last time , you effectively cleared these airways and hence the fridge section got cold again.

If you want to help the engineer on his visit , switch the appliance off and unplug 48hrs prior to his call….making sure you have plenty of towels round the base of the FF to soak any defrost water

BSH Bosch call booking is 08448928979
