    Re: Miele wont start

Premier 300 is a range of machines (includes 300,301,302 etc) model num’ is reguired W304 for instance, door interlock for this range is (part num’ 4842084), about £35ish trade. Try also faulty on/off start switch (5869690 part num’) £25ish trade, small electronic card located on rhs of facia panel.
Worthwhile checking for water in sump of machine if its a 308 as some of the 300 series have a closed sump & float switch mechanism, this will give a red LED fault (waterintake).

Yeah, i understand about the oil, but don’t all air compressor systems (even industrial) have oil in their pump?? I think they use a filter system in line, not really my field at all, just a suggestion he came up with, he said if i could be on the look out for an old motor off a fridge that would do his job hence the query? Thanx for the feedback.

Maybe silly this, but sometimes when you take a dishwasher out you screw down front feet to get it out, therefore disturbing the level, i’ve had one of these one time that was slightly off level (fall to front) when it was levelled up properly (or front slightly higher than back) the problem with drips from door was gone! Just a thought.

Yeah, got the letter or was it fax??
Ballack seems a very apt description for the brand if its anything like the sh1t that we usually service for GBDAR, fax is in the bin…

Thanks for your replies, i’ve got the customer to buy a new machine, citing that it may be too costly to repair, i got old machine for dumping so i’ll put it in the garage with all the other junk & perhaps it make me a few bob when i get round to fitting bearings in it!

I think it memorizes the last programme used & will do it repeatedly unless customer selects new one, she may have messed about with settings inadvertently by trying to cure it herself when it didn’t empty, your best bet is to get Miele engineer out, to check it with his laptop & optical interface jobby, for free..

Re: Using S’H parts in U/G machines?

I’m not really going to expose the company on here, i’ve told the company that i as an engineer, i won’t fit second hand parts in a new appliance for one of my customers, they have agreed to send me on a new part after i caused a stink, but the question is, is it common practice to do a repair on an under warranty appliance using used parts? I’ve not come across it before & to be honest i don’t even use second hand parts in out of warranty repairs either.

Re: Using S’H parts in U/G machines?

The machine was a washing machine, tub was supplied to me with rusted & busted bearings still in housing, with new bearings to replace them, the old bearings were really badly broken in housing.. my gripe was that i could not (with hand on heart) stand over the repair, the housing usually will leak again if there is wear on it!

Re: Miele Commercial t/d Tumbling one way only..any clues??

Miele T5206 tumble driers are controlled by electronic unit costing about £200, from memory.. sounds like a stuck relay though!
Try “Impact Engineering” :– tap relays gently to see if they would release.

Re: Indesit Semi Int’ D’W door stuck

I tried the force thing but it wouldn’t open, i quess i’ll have to try even harder, do you mean the part fixed to the machine, i had thought that the door handle itself may have been at fault as it doesn’t seem to be doing anything ( no contact), i’ll try & force it open & hopefully i’ll bring a few spares with me to cover all eventuallitys…

Yes i’ve seen it, the back wall is always either iced up or very very wet, no opened jugs or unsealed containers in fridge when i seen it. Thermostat was set between 2-3.

No mate it’s in a modern home, in kitchen, free standing! Just wondering if this machine has been a “problem” appliance! It is under warranty, hotpoint replaced the previous appliance for her & gave her a new one, it has performed the exact same, she has come back to us the retailer, says she’s not happy with purchase!! Wants her money back…

If you use Mediator on Electrue connections online you can search for list of parts on most Hotpoint & other makes, this i find very useful an invaluable resource for getting part numbers & price quotes etc.
