    Re: Tecnik TKC1285 cooker

    Great advice thanks.

One thing concerning me is the overall dimensions. Here on Shop@ it says UN1460’s motor housing is 185mm. Is this the length of the fan?

My fan is 300mm in length.

I assume I’m still a member? I never did get my membership card, is the printer working yet, so I too have no idea what my number is?

I’m with you on that one Rob! 😆

Had a call today where the timer was faulty. Customer said her husband would be pleased because he thought it was the timer. (A pat on the back for him.)

Funny thing is, when she booked the call, she said her husband thought it could be the motor, timer or the pressure switch.

    :rolls:

    The customers always right?

This can be something as simple as the door not being closed properly. Or the start button has been pressed to hard, and over a period of time the start switch has come off or out of allignment.

Open and close the door a few times. And with the palm of your hand push the handle flush with the door itself.

    Insulation test the dryer heater!

You can run the machine with the dryer disconnected if the customers ok with it.

(If you search for something like ‘zanussi AND dryer AND heater’ you should find quite a few recent posts.)

    Just been through the ‘quote’ process;

I said i’ve got a 5 year old bosch washing machine that cost between £249 and £499.

The quote came back at £18.90 per month for 10 months.

I wonder how many new customers they are getting?

Did you take the front off the machine?

Its worth checking the thermistor & connector as water contamination can give you this error.

Oh and insulation test the heater while you’re there.

    Two years?

That machine must be approaching 10 years now.

Wet and spin a full load of towels, you will definitely see and hear the fault then.

Surely if theres a restrictor in the original valve you would fit the restrictor to the replacement valve? Or buy the genuine valve with the restrictor already in?
You wouldn’t use a valve without a restrictor would you?

    Re: hoover hf7150m completely dead

An open circuit pump or heater can give this fault.

But normally it is the board. Do check that water hasn’t leaked from the dispenser hose down onto the pump, this is what causes the module to fault.

I’ve got a feeling it could be a DIE. Double Installation Error.

Connected to hot supply & waste pipe too low.

I had a SIE. Single Installation Error on Thursday.

Been filling off the hot for four years. I must say the heater & tub were as good as new! She only called me out for a service!

Just look on here – hardly anyone posting question on Miele washing machines. So obviously more reliable than the rest.

Or the other stance is sales are low in comparison. 😉

Or people know they have a 5 / 10 year warranty so no need to go looking for advice.

I’m sure this model had the tablet type toc pop riveted in the front metal shield where the heater is.

When it failed it did give you that symptom.

Now I know absolutely zilch about cookers & hobs, but don’t you need a certain type of base on the kettle, saucepan etc to get the hob to work?

    Does it work with saucepans?

Tell me to get my coat if you want!
