ParticipantRe: Neff B1442 Problem
You’ll need to pull it out and check if the ‘temperature limiter’ (aka thermal fuse) has popped. As well as checking each element and the main selector switch. Power off before investing. :zap:
The full model number (ENr no) would be useful to have as there are many variants of B1442 😉

Here’s a plan…..

ParticipantRe: How do I even use this?!
The main program control knob, I think, is one of those retractable jobs where you push it to allow it to pop out? Try turning that to start of any of the different programs.

The large oval button alongside the red light is the on/off. Is it plugged in and switched on at the wall socket?

ParticipantRe: How to remove integrated dishwasher?
dr_jones wrote:Yes, that’s correct.
Well unless there are serious issues with the floor on where it stands it should slide out using the door to pull on. The rear centre foot is always a problem so a ‘slider’ of some kind under it should be used. The 2 front feet are more resistive to damage so raise that rear foot as far as possible.
I trust also you have unscrewed the top fixing screws into the side carcasses?
Edit: Extra thought….The hoses are not causing it not to pull out are they? You are best to disconnect them first and feed them clear as you extract the machine. 😉

Can you please clarify that you have lowered the appliance clear of the worktop by adjusting the two front feet and the rear centre foot?

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Top loader tap adapter
Been obsolete for over 5 years now. Nasty American fine thread coupling, not conducive to EU/UK. Use a UK adaptor with plenty of PTFE tape seems the only get out of jail tactic. 🙁

Door not shut properly or wire connecting door lock have come adrift?

ParticipantRe: Oven Timer trips electrics
“sends a surge”…… “sound goes off on TV” …… “timer resets?” Non of this makes any sense. Start by giving us the make and full model number of this oven please.

It is important to remove the belt and try turning the drum as Dave asked. It should be virtually silent and spin easily. 😉

ParticipantRe: Homebrew Fridge
How big is the “standard size fridge” you bought as external space is clearly the issue you first need to address?
A larder fridge (without an icebox) is best suited together with an STC-1000 temperature controller.
Go armed with all your internal/external measurements to a secondhand appliance retailer. Situated in most towns and cities. Your best bet.
HTH? 😀

ParticipantRe: ISE W256 bearing removal
With the drum shaft in a vertical position squirt loads of WD40 down the outer shaft and leave overnight to allow sufficient penetration. Then with the end of the shaft protected from damage (i.e Oak block) whack it with a lump hammer for all your worth. The inner bearing will have rusted hard against the shaft. Best of luck! 😀

iadom wrote:Not sure about Martin but in all my long, nay very long time in the trade I have never ever ‘bench tested’ any motors.
No me neither, no point whatsoever. The only exception is workshop repairs to vacs, fan heaters, hair dryers and the odd tumble dryer. But then I, like Jim am old school 😉
But these days there must be hoards of Ebayers reclaiming motors from scrap machines, reconning them and ‘bench testing’ them, somehow, and knocking them out cheap. :rolls:
