yes but how will you control when the bulb turns on and off, if its left on for great lengths of time it will melt plastic.

if you leave the internal light on it will melt the bulb housing around it, not to mention warm up the inside of the fridge which is not what you want.

yep during really cold weather use a friends freezer who has got a warm kitchen, other than that not a lot you can do really, advise has been given if you choose to ignore it and find a better way then thats your call, but just bear this in mind, all the engineers on here volunteer information in their own time and for nothing and between us all there isnt very much we havnt seen or done so as a rule all advise is spot on.

just to add a different slant to this thread, what you said in your post phidom is totally contradictory to what happens on here.if you think about it we give out advise to people for free taking a possible service call away from someone.although i agree with what you say i also agree with what everyone else has said so far, to help or not to help in the public forums this is the question 😆

check for chaffed wires from stator against the base where cable ties are. i have had this cause exactly that problem.
