Loud click indicates gears failed inside timer. Blown tracks on these timers more often than not points to a shorting interlock. Send the timer to us and we will diagnose actual component causing failure and repair it for £34.90+vat. Tony EMW 0115 9652118

    Re: Ariston CD12TUK

This is a classic ‘no motor detected’ fault. Machine locks door and then dead. Have a look at the carbons – when they go low this will give the fault. Chgeck the motor plug for loose wires and tighten all edge connectors on the main module. Otherwise you may have to replace the motor. Changing the timer would not affect this – it must have been pure cahnce that it worked again ! If you get really stuck, you can always send the board to us for tset (£5+vat). Tony EMW 0115 9652118

Classic fault on these boards – in stock at £34.90+vat. Fit one of ours – THEN WAIT FOR 14 days to make sure the fault has been cleared. THEN send the ex unit back to us. This way you are absolutely sure the fault has cleared before committing to buy a board. If the fault is still there, even after 14 days, send the board back to us and look again at the machine.

    Re: hotpoint wd61

Hardly….. We take timers back after they have been fitted for 21 days for a mere £5+vat so I’ve no interest in pushing timers that aren’t going to be needed. I am only making the point that, in my experience (over 5000 of these tested by me), skipping heat due to a timer fault is way way way more common than heater or thermister faults. I ASSUME any engineer would always check the other machine components before fitting timers. Not always the case, but our timer return policy acts as a financial safety net when needed.
